Bishop John O’Riordan Passes On
Bishop Emeritus of Kenema Diocese John O’Riordan has died at the age of 92 in Dublin. He was called to eternity on November 22, 2016. He will be remembered for his pastoral ministry in Sierra Leone for nearly 50 years (1953-2002). He was Bishop of Kenema Diocese for 18 years.
On February 10 2017 the Diocese of Kenema, together with priests, religious and clergy from the other dioceses of ITCABIC celebrated Mass in his memory. The Eucharist was presided over by His Grace, Archbishop Edward Charles of the Archdiocese of Freetown. Bishop Aruna, the Auxiliary Bishop of Kenema Diocese gave a heart-warming homily on the life and ministry of Bishop O’Riordan. The Bishop, Most Rev. Patirck D. Koroma, clergy and Laity of Kenema Diocese extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all who were present at the occasion and who remembered Bishop O’Riordan in their prayers.
